Credit Unions Named Ireland’s No.1 for Customer Experience for Record-Breaking 11th Year
Credit unions have once again been recognised as Ireland’s leaders in customer experience, taking the top spot in the 2026 Customer Experience Insight (CXi) Report for an incredible 11th consecutive year.
Even more remarkably, credit unions are the only brand to have maintained a place in the top ten since the survey began, demonstrating a consistency in customer experience that is unmatched.
In this year’s report, credit unions achieved an overall Customer Experience score of 8.16 out of 10 and were the only brand to score above 8, the benchmark for CX Excellence.
For us at Kilrush Credit Union, this recognition is particularly meaningful because it reflects what has always been at the heart of the credit union movement: putting members first.
While the way people manage their finances continues to change, the credit union approach remains centred on people and relationships. Today, members can benefit from modern digital services alongside the personal, local service that has always set credit unions apart.
Claire Neylon at Kilrush Credit Union, said:
“To see credit unions recognised as Ireland’s number one for customer experience for an 11th consecutive year is something we are incredibly proud of.
“At Kilrush Credit Union, our members are at the heart of everything we do. Whether someone visits us in person, picks up the phone or uses our online and digital services, our aim is always to provide a helpful, personal and positive experience.
“Most importantly, this recognition comes from the experiences of consumers themselves. We would like to thank our members for their continued trust, loyalty and support, and our staff and volunteers for the commitment they show to our members and our community every day.”
Commenting on the announcement, David Malone, CEO of the Irish League of Credit Unions, said the achievement reflects the strong relationships credit unions have built with their members and local communities, together with the dedication of staff and directors throughout the movement.
He highlighted that members remain at the centre of the credit union model, whether credit unions are introducing new services, supporting people through important moments in their lives or serving their local communities.
The achievement also demonstrates how credit unions have continued to evolve to meet changing member expectations, embracing new technology and services while retaining the personal touch and strong community focus that members value.
